Why we exist

Eighteen years of the same two questions.

For eighteen years, our founders heard the same two requests from technology leaders in every industry they worked in. Show us how our systems actually work. Let us change them without hesitation.

The engineers who wrote those systems had moved on, and the reasons behind their decisions left with them. Documentation went stale the day it was written. So every change began with months of manual archaeology, and whatever nobody found in time became a guess that shipped anyway.

The root cause was simple. Version control keeps a flawless history of what code says, and no record of what it means: which rule lives where, what depends on it, and what breaks if it changes. As the industry progressed and made that record possible to build, we built it, and put it into production the same year.
